My name is Gabriele Canesi, and I am a visiting PhD student working with Professor Pasquali for a research period at the university.
I am writing to request assistance regarding access to the RPBS cluster. I have been trying to log in via terminal from my personal MacBook following the instructions on the website, but I am unable to establish a connection.
Note that I am currently connected via the Eduroam network.
Specifically, I am using the following command: ssh canesi@ipop-up.rpbs.univ-paris-diderot.fr
After entering the password provided to me via email (which I have double-checked for accuracy), I receive the following error:
Connection closed by 81.194.29.40 port 22
Could you please help me identify the cause of this issue? I would like to know if there is a mistake in my configuration or if there are specific restrictions for users connecting via Eduroam.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance. I look forward to your kind reply.
Thank you for your response and for the clarification.
As requested, my public IP address (on the Eduroam network) is: 81.194.30.209
Regarding the login attempts, I would like to clarify that I have been copying and pasting the password from the original email to ensure its accuracy. I will be extra careful in the next attempts to make sure no trailing spaces are included in the selection.
Thank you for your assistance in unblocking my IP and looking into this.
Dear Julien,
I am pasting below the email I received, which includes my password and login instructions for the RPBS cluster. Does this mean the access request from my Professor has already been processed?
The email you received is generic and simply means that your account has been created on the RPBS platform. It does not mean that you have access to the HPC environment; this request must be explicitly submitted by your supervisor.
